  • Spend quality time with your child
  • Avoid comparing with others
  • Scold or punish but with concern
  • Condemn or criticize the action without hurting the self esteem of the child
  • Praise when necessary, don't over do it, let it not be superficial
  • Make the child understand the need of the hour and rise up to the situations.
  • Identify and acknowledge every natural action of the child
  • Encourage them to respond than reacting
  • Allow your child mingle with every body
  • Never gossip with your child or in front of your child - elderly/adult talk - help the child to remain innocent
  • Listen to the grievances of the child with compassion, be a patient listener but do not react or add comments. Avoid emotional listening so that you can be the best judge of the situations.
  • Express your love and affection in person. Not in terms of money or materialistic benefits. This kind of reward can be reserved for achieving some thing big.
  • Motivate the child to choose good, be good, to do good and truthful.
